Common Questions

Is this a timeshare?
No. You purchase real shares in Thélème S.A., a Costa Rican corporation that owns the property. This is actual equity ownership — you can sell your shares, earn appreciation, and vote on all decisions.
How do points work?
Each share comes with 15 points per year. Nights cost 2–7 points depending on season. Your point balance can range from -10 to +10. Points above +10 don't roll over. You cannot book if your balance is below -10.
Can I rent out my nights?
Absolutely. You can list your unused nights on Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or Expedia. You can also join HomeExchange ($235/year) to swap your nights for free stays at properties worldwide.
How is the property governed?
Democratically via blockchain. Every share equals one vote. New members require majority approval. New assessments require majority vote. A member judged harmful can be removed with a 67% vote and bought back at original purchase price.
What happens if I want to sell?
You can sell your shares at any time. Share transfers happen via blockchain with no government transfer tax. Share prices are expected to appreciate ~10% per year, so your investment grows over time.
